Our client based in Montreal is looking into hiring a perm BI Team Lead. 

Job summary:
The incumbent of this position is responsible for the management of business intelligence initiatives.

They plan, organize and coordinate business intelligence initiatives by providing consistent solutions to different units to produce management information that informs and accelerates decision-making.

Responsibilities
Manage the roadmap for business intelligence

  • Works with business unit leadership to develop strategic directions and ensure partner satisfaction with Deliverables for Strategic Data Initiatives
  • Support the harmonization of measures in business intelligence
  • Promotes and facilitates the development of self-service capabilities of business units for access and documentation of decision-making
  • Ensures the development and growth of business intelligence
  • Team Management 
    • Plan, organize, lead and coordinate BI initiatives
    • Manage production capacity with his team
    • Ensure management, development and coaching of the team

Project Management and Business Analysis

  • identifies and understands the needs of internal customers
  • delivers IT projects on time and on budget
  • oversees the work of IT systems analysts, programmers / analysts or trainees, as well as project deliverables in general
  • coordinates or provides training for super users.

Authority

  • TAKE APPROPRIATE DECISIONS WITHIN THE PROJECT DELIVERY TEAM TO ENSURE OPTIMAL WORK DELIVERY.
  • EVALUATE AND PROPOSE A REFUSAL / REDIRECTION OF LOW VALUE WORK APPLICATIONS.
  • PROVIDE ESTIMATES OF EFFORTS TO THE MANAGER AND PROJECT SPONSOR.
  • TAKE DESIGN DECISIONS BASED ON A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF BUSINESS, PRACTICES AND REQUIREMENTS PROCESSES.
  • RESPONSIBLE FOR GO / NO GO DECISIONS BASED ON THE QUALITY OF TESTING.
  • RECOMMEND SOLUTIONS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS OF PRODUCTION.
  • MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE NEED TO OPTIMIZE BUSINESS PROCESSES.
  • ENSURE THAT THE PROJECT COMPLIES WITH THE BUDGET, SCOPE AND TIMEFRAME THAT HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED.

Education and training

  • Bachelor's degree IT or business administration
  • Very goo knowledge in BW

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst
  • 2 to 3 years of experience using the IT project management methodology
  • Experience in computer development a considerable asset
