Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Senior SAP Finance Business Analyst for a long-term contract.
 
Start: December 2019/early January 2020
End: ~February 2022
Duration: 112 weeks
Location: Toronto (Bloor & Jarvis)
Workweek: 35 hours
 
Role:
This SAP Finance Business Analyst role includes gathering and documenting as-is processes, business requirements for the to-be solution, prioritizing business processes, participation in customer meetings/workshops, and process discussions following and using leading practices in business analysis
Therefore, strong facilitation, interpersonal and customer skills are needed to interact with client management groups as well as the ability to apply analysis, definition, and documentation for business, system and data processes.
As a Business Analyst with a focus on SAP Finance Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Analyse and document existing processes and define areas for improvement and the benefits of these improvements, including an as-is inventory and process flows including roles, data, exceptions, manual processes and reporting 
  • Assist with business requirements analysis using the out  of the box capabilities within the To-Be product
  • Gather/Document Business Requirements and Functional/Detail Requirements
  • Review and provide input to the Client’s business requirements
  • Participate in the deployment of the new business processes including end-user training and transition to the support Team
  • Prepare and maintain associated project documentation as necessary
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering through workshops and interviews with process owners
  • Work closely with end users to ensure a common understanding of day to day processes
  • Create test plans, training materials and system documentation for internal and external clients
  • Prepare and maintain SAP business process documentation as necessary
  • Assist with SAP End-User Training to all relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare functional specs for all system changes, working with developers where necessary
  • Participate in project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, go-live and post go-live support activities
  • Participate in the following areas: solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility, functional design, application configuration, technical specification, testing, production deployment, support and training
  • Follow all design work and integration testing protocols, change control procedures and practices in performing required work
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst
  • Must have had 2 full SAP FI/CO implementation project with an emphasis on AP and AR
  • At least 5 years supporting SAP related projects with an emphasis on AP and AR
  • At least 2 years of practical experience with using a wide variety of techniques to elicit requirements (i.e. Research, Verbal protocols, Focus groups, Brainstorming, Interviews, Questionnaires, Prototyping, etc.) and in using a variety of models/diagrams/documents to capture, document and interpret requirements
  • Strong standard SAP knowledge of AP and AR processes
  • Strong business knowledge and experience working in SAP FI/CO
  • Excellent conceptualization and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Other Requirements/Certifications:
  • CBAP or equivalent is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • SAP Finance certification is an asset
  • Understanding of SAP’s Activate Methodology
Deliverables:
  • Document and map the as-is process, working with closely with the process owners to ensure a common understanding of day to day processes
  • Document and gather the business requirements for the to-be solution, working with the business to refine as necessary
  • Document the to-be business process under the guidance of the process owners and project team, adhering to SAP best practices
  • Prepare and maintain SAP business process documentation as necessary
  • Prepare functional specifications for system changes, working with developers when appropriate
  • Translate business requirements into system requirements and collaborate with development team to ensure that requirements are understood and met during project phases
  • Participate in the following areas as required: solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility, functional design, technical specification, testing, production deployment, support and training
  • Support the following areas as required: project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, go-live and post go-live support activities
Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
