The SAP Solution Architect will report to the Manager, SAP Services and Support – Information Services. The selected candidate will responsible for the overall design of the SAP application and mapping business requirements to systems / technical requirements. The SAP Solution Architect works alongside System Integration Partner Solution Architects, Business Process Experts, Technical Architect and other team members to deliver the complete solution for the business customer while adhering to SAP best practices, standards, and templates. This role will lead research and champion innovation within the SAP Platform.

Role:

  • Document and maintain overall architecture of SAP Platform
  • Research new solutions and establish the SAP Functional Roadmap
  • Provide subject matter expertise in SAP Cloud Platforms and SAP On-Premise environments integration to other and non-SAP environments. 
  • Produce conceptual and logical solution designs that address business requirements while respecting corporate and architectural standards and guidelines
  • Work with domain, functional and technical architects to develop detailed solution-specific application, data and infrastructure designs
  • Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide solution design decisions. Participate in all phases of software development lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, configuration, development, testing and support
  • Gather functional and technical requirements for enhancements, incident and problem resolution
  • Provide architecture and application expertise to support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and business functions
  • Ensure solutions are developed, integrated and properly maintained within the SAP landscape, and in accordance with company standards and established architecture guidelines
  • Interface with vendors to understand roadmap for specific products, support enhancements and new projects. Coordinate upgrades and maintenance releases
  • Coordinate acceptance tests to ensure quality of deliverables, adherence to business expectation and timely delivery of business solutions
  • Review existing and emerging technologies, market trends and product capabilities to determine potential impact on the enterprise’s architecture strategy and alignment to business plans
  • Provide consulting services for the maintenance, enhancement and troubleshooting of SAP and related applications
  • Provide assistance to Project Teams to identify processes, interfaces, and impacts to downstream and upstream processes and systems
  • Participate in Project Deliverables review to ensure alignment with processes, standards, etc. and to establish and review project deliverables
  • Provide input for continuous improvement of department processes, tools and technologies
  • Champion the proper use of tools, processes and standards by conducting education, application review and design sessions to reinforce skills and knowledge baseline
  • Bring SAP and industry best practices to the business environment
  • Support training curriculum and delivery for the business including: new hires, new functionality or refresher training

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Compile business needs, process information and technical requirements to produce an optimal, high level, analysis and conceptual design for projects, new solutions and enhancements
  • Work with business users to identify improvement opportunities, plan medium and long-term enhancements and assist users in determining priorities
  • Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise
  • Steer and guide the creation and maintenance of the software design (application architecture) strategy and direction
  • Foster a positive, open learning environment where ideas and suggestions become a source of continuous process improvement
  • Take initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking
  • Interact with other member of Information Services to ensure that questions and discrepancies about specifications are resolved during the solution review process
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to improve collaboration and overall alignment
  • Collaborate with local and regional I.S. teams to deliver enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with evolving business needs
  • Work with third party vendors to develop solutions and/or integrate their applications into the SAP application landscape
  • Influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in SAP application integration
  • 5+ years in SAP application design and architecture
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP Cloud environment (XSA)– Cloud Foundry and/or Neo
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP On-Premise environments
  • 3+ years JavaScript development knowledge in Node.js environment
  • 2+ years experience with SAPUI5, Fiori, API Management, SAP Web IDE, GIT
  • 2+ years in-depth knowledge with SAP Odata services and SAP HANA database
  • 2+ years in building solutions using AJAX technique and MTA (Multi-Target Application) framework
  • Understanding of identity authentication and identity provisioning
  • University Degree in computer science, business administration or related discipline
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadline
  • Results oriented mindset
  • Experience partnering with outsourced vendors
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgement and effective decision-making
  • Strong process improvement orientation, and experience in leading discussions to drive positive results amongst inter-disciplinary groups
  • Hands-on experience in technical solution design, software specifications, conceptualization and development
  • Hands-on experience in Agile projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • SAP certification preferred

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
