Our Client is looking for a SAP Testing and Deployment Lead for a long-term contract position.

Role:
  • Testing & Deployment Lead working in conjunction with Systems Integrator and Client representatives to manage both testing track (test planning & preparation, test execution and defect management utilizing HP, ALM) and deployment track (task planning, cutover readiness, go/no-go, move to production, transition to hypercare)
  • Manage testing and deployment activities / life-cycle to ensure as many defects are addressed prior to go-live; development of repeatable and sustainable processes
Experience:
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive IT project management with a focus on testing / quality / deployment methodologies, including:
    • 3-5 years in a senior project manager or test lead role using formal testing / quality methodologies integrated into overall project management methodology
    • 2-3 years managing both testing and deployment portfolios within an SAP Program
  • Hands-on experience managing projects / testing / deployment in a cross functional and enterprise wide environment utilizing Agile Methodologies
  • Experience implementing testing practices within an SAP program.  SAP and HP ALM experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP deployments within multi-domain (n and n+1) environments.
  • Strong skills in test management / project management, stakeholder management, and risk management.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage testing track of work from Initiation through Closure aligning testing framework with Agile methodologies to ensure successful completion.
  • Actively manage plans, dependencies, scope, risks, issues, quality at the track level to ensuring commitments are met.
  • Effectively track deliverables, milestones, and change requests as applicable.
  • Report on testing status including executive dashboards and standards
  • Implement & support testing standards and methods and tools both for the program and for post program sustainment
  • Drive resolution of any conflicts and escalate as needed to avoid roadblocks.
  • Manage cross-functional teams (IT, business, 3rd party vendors, etc.) in a matrix management framework.
  • Manage stakeholder relations to ensure that expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Lead a team of professionals both IT & Business through the cutover process / move to production
  • Work with Program Manager, program team, other deployment leads, and other departments on prerequisites to ensure readiness.
  • Work cross team/ cross company to establish the task plan to achieve go-live (movement of the SAP code/configuration (transports) / manual configuration.
  • Represent and help manage the deployment methodology to ensure proper controls are followed and documented in adherence to Client's standards
  • Knowledge of the SAP move to production methodology and integrate with the requirements to ensure proper go/no-go checkpoints, signoffs, System checkouts, etc to get a positive move to production/cutover event
  • Knowledge/familiarity of SAP CHARM for transport management
  • Understand cross team dependencies/linkages to ensure an adequately built move to production plan
  • Understand the "5-box" landscape approach and how the Program team in the "n+1" landscape needs to interact with the "n" landscape for a successful move to production/cutover
  • Provide clear and concise status updates to all levels of the organization
  • Understand and work within the Client organization to facilitate the successful move to production/cutover of SAP Wave 2; helping with escalations as necessary; helping with identification of people to help resolve items impacting move to production/cutover
  • Engage with the team on Hypercare prep and execution activities
  • Validate the handoff strategy and execution from Program Team in Hypercare to Steady State/Support Team
