Our client is currently seeking a dynamic individual to lead and expand their data management practice. As a key figure in their organization, you will be responsible for upholding the integrity, accessibility, and security of their data – the cornerstone of their strategic decision-making and planning. Your role will involve overseeing and enhancing data quality processes, managing their data governance framework, and working closely with different business units to forge a cohesive and efficient data ecosystem.

Manager Enterprise Data Management: The JD is very detailed, and I would refer to it.
 
  • Reporting to the Senior National Manager of Information Services

Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead the development and implementation of the data governance framework
  • Facilitate collaboration between data owners and stewards across different business units
  • Develop and implement measures and protocols for periodic data quality audits
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations to team members
  • Manage and evaluate vendor partnerships for data-related services and technology support
  • Negotiate contracts, oversee vendor performance, and assess new vendor offerings for potential incorporation into data management strategies
  • Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources and plan for future project needs and technology upgrades

Qualifications:
 
  • University degree or college diploma in computer science/related discipline, or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or data quality field
  • 3+ years of leadership experience or in a team management role
  • 3+ years of project management experience with medium to large scale initiatives
  • 3+ years of data privacy and Canadian provincial and federal regulations (e.g. Law 25, PIPEDA CASL)
  • 5+ years of experience with data architecture and data storage best practices
  • Experience developing data strategies and implementing data practices in a retail, wholesale, automotive or manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge and experience with architectural patterns such as Microservices, N-Tier, Event-Driven, SOA, etc

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
