Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Project Manager Health, Safety and Social Performance Systems for a long-term contract engagement.


Start: September 2025
Duration: 10 months
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Regular onsite time is expected
Travel: Some travel to Northern Ontario and Quebec is expected

Role:
Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, and Director of Social Performance the Project Manager, Health, Safety and Social Performance Systems will lead two critical initiatives within our organization

  • The revamp and upgrade of our Health & Safety system (Intelex), ensuring it aligns with best practices, business requirements, and operational needs. Support the re-training and re-integration of software across the sites.
  • The evaluation and selection of a Communities, Stakeholder, and Social Performance (CSSP) software solution. Support in the deployment of the software,
This role requires a unique blend of high-level business process knowledge in health, safety, and social performance with strong expertise in software selection and implementation methodologies. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams—including Health & Safety, Social Performance, Operations, and Technology—while engaging external vendors and consultants to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support our long-term ESG commitments.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Plan, execute, and oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle for both initiatives (Health & Safety system upgrade and CSSP software selection).
  • Define scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business goals.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risks, ensuring delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Collaborate closely with Health & Safety, Sustainability, Operations, and Technology teams to capture requirements and ensure business alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops, working groups, and decision-making sessions with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection process of CSSP software (requirements gathering, RFI/RFP, vendor demos, scoring, and recommendation).
  • Apply industry best practices for software selection and change management.
  • Oversee vendor engagement, contract negotiations, and develop implementation governance framework.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to regulatory, corporate, and industry standards for Health, Safety, and Sustainability.
  • Track and report on project KPIs, ensuring accountability to stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred). PMP, CSM, Six Sigma or a related certification is desired.
  • 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in mining, natural resources, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record managing enterprise software selection and implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Sustainability business processes, particularly within resource industries.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic objectives with hands-on execution.
  • Proven experience with software deployment and delivering effective staff training to ensure smooth adoption and sustained system use.

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
