Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Project Controls Analyst.  
This is a role that is focused on preparing and analyzing reports with data from multiple sources (including SAP ECC)  for the project management team. 

Start Date: February 3, 2025
End Date: January 30, 2026 (end date to be verified)
Location: Calgary/Onsite

Position Description: Project Controls Analyst
Reports to: Director, Program Management
Location: Calgary, AB
Accountabilities:
Cost Reporting
  • Prepares regular project portfolio cost reports and cashflow forecasts
  • Generates analytics and dashboards summarizing performance vs targets, variances and trends
  • Consolidates data from multiple sources including SAP ECC, MS Project and Excel for reporting purposes
  • Provides support to project management team in preparation of ad hoc analysis and reports
  • A proven reputation for validating accuracy of their work, and drilling into and resolving issues
  • Provides regular summary reports capturing program performance, identifying variances/trends to senior leadership for follow-up/action
 Budget Management
  • Maintains current budgets and program data for projects across the Canada, US, and Mexico
  • Coordinates creation, approval and adjustment of capital budgets
  • Oversees management of change process
Material Handling Reports
  • Consolidates data from multiple SAP reports for use by materials management team (see list below)
  • Supports material data entry if/when required
  • Creates regular 30 day average pricing files for forecasting purposes
Skills/expectations
  • At least 10 years experience in a project controls analyst role
  • Proven track record in conducting data analysis related to project controls, including budget/AFE preparation, cost reporting (labor, materials, services, etc.), cost and variance forecasting, and earned value
  • Proven ability to accurately report on in-house construction projects and managing a project portfolio comprising of hundreds of projects.
  • Experienced in preparing regular progress/variance reports for senior level management
  • Exceptionally strong in SAP reporting and entry including reports such as including but not limited to ZI_MM017, ZI_MM014, MB51, IW38, AUFK, CN46, and SE16
  • Expertise in using software such as Excel, Power BI, File Manager Pro, and SharePoint for project reporting
  • Exemplary communication and leadership skills
  • Process-minded: develops procedures, templates, provide training
  • Looks for opportunity to add value and drive continuous improvement
  • Background in accounting and/or supply chain considered assets
  • Spanish would be considered an asset
