Job Description

Our Client is looking for SAP IT Service Manager to join on a permanent basis.

Start: ASAP (Feb/March 2026)
Location: Oshawa, ON
Work Arrangement: 5 days per week onsite
Salary: ~$130k - $145K + bonus + benefits
Security Clearance: Required, initiated by the end client

Role:
Manage the Support and Sustainment activities for the SAP IT team. Provide management expertise, evaluation, guidance, and advice to solve unusual and complex problems. Provide Information Management consulting, advice, recommendations, and assistance to the Business/Operating Site(s) regarding all matters related to the strategic management of information via computerized systems. Recognize, assess, develop, and approve changes/enhancements to the overall IT solution

Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities, resulting in a highly motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Promote a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
  • Champion adherence to engineering standards, agile methodologies, and coding best practices to consistently deliver high-quality software products.
  • Establish and manage delivery processes to ensure timely and successful product launches that meet customer and market expectations.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively address delivery risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and reliable product outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third parties to optimize product value, cost-effectiveness, and delivery efficiency.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive ongoing process improvements and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure all software engineering practices and product deliveries comply with relevant regulations and standards, while aligning technical efforts with organizational strategy and communicating progress to senior management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or related fields, particularly if combined with technical experience.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, product delivery, or related technical roles, including atleast 3–5 years in a leadership, supervisory, or management capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience implementing agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and best practices to drive product quality and team efficiency.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, as well as ensuring adherence to relevant compliance standards and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to optimize product value and support organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in tracking, analyzing, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making and drive ongoing process enhancements.
  • SAP experience, 5+ years total; at least 3 years as a Manager
  • Finance (FICO) experience/knowledge is preferred; SCM, BW, BPC is nice to have. EAM is an asset.
  • SuccessFactors, Concur, Ariba experience is an asset.
  • Managed SAP implementations and/or sustainment operations; the ideal candidate has done both
  • SAP ECC and S/4 experience.
  • Must bring good energy and gumption to the team; Drive people to get things done.
  • Good communication skills
  • Unionized environment experience is helpful, not mandatory. (Position is non-union)
  • Utilities industry experience is a nice to have
  • Must be able to be onsite 5 days per week in Oshawa, ON.

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
