Our Client is looking for a SAP Interface Specialist for a contract engagement.
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: March 2024
Duration: 10+ months
Location: Toronto, ON
Onsite: Hybrid mode - will need to come into the office occasionally
Role:
This position will report to the Manager, SAP Services and Support – Information Services. The candidate will develop, maintain, monitor, and govern SAP enterprise interfaces. The scope of responsibility is monitoring and securing of connectivity, routing, and transformation of data to and from SAP S/4 applications, that involve IDOC and any other intermediate file formats through multiple transformation platforms.

Role:
This position will report to the Manager, SAP Services and Support – Information Services. The candidate will develop, maintain, monitor, and govern SAP enterprise interfaces. The scope of responsibility is monitoring and securing of connectivity, routing, and transformation of data to and from SAP S/4 applications, that involve IDOC and any other intermediate file formats through multiple transformation platforms.
Responsibilities include:
- Subject matter expert in interfaces among different customers, vendors, partners, and affiliates; for data transformation platforms resided on premise and on the cloud with data interfaces to and from SAP S/4 environments
- Work closely with SAP Solution Architect and other IS associates and business associates on establishing and collaborating different interfaces standard to secure data transfer
- Review business processes and find opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity through interfaces to/from other systems
- Adjust and improve deployment framework to better business users’ experience in the notification, correction procedure, and recovery of interface failure
- Facilitate interfaces design by leveraging interface file standards, SAP IDOC standards, and industrial EDI standards
- Partake in all phases of software development lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, configuration, development, testing and support involve SAP interfaces
- Involve in functional and technical requirements for enhancements, incident and problem
- Ensure solutions are developed, integrated and properly maintained within the SAP landscape
- Interface with vendors to understand roadmap for specific products, support enhancements and new project, coordinate upgrades and maintenance releases
- Coordinate acceptance tests with internal personnel and outside partners to ensure quality of deliverables, adherence to business expectation and timely delivery of business solutions
- Support training of key resources (business and I.S.) on interface landscape and technology
Requirements include:
- University Degree in computer science, business administration or related discipline
- 3+ years of work experience in SAP IDOC and ABAP
- 3+ years of experience in development role in an SAP environment
- 2+ years working knowledge with SAP PO (Process Orchestration)
- Practical hands-on experience with CI – DS (Cloud Integration for Data Services) will be an asset
- Understanding of transfer network protocols (FTP, FTPS, SFTP) will be an asset
- Working experience with EDI standard
- Working experience in coordinating with vendors and customers on interfaces activation
- Knowledgeable in building end to end interface solutions using middleware
- Hands-on experience in Agile projects
- SAP certification preferred
