Job Description

Our client is looking for an SAP Intermediate Project Manager for a 12 month hybrid mandate.

Start date: April 2024
End date: March 31, 2025
Mandatory 3 days in-office presence
Preferred Location Montreal or Winnipeg

Responsibilities:


Provides guidance to program / project leadership through project the project
lifecycle, resulting in successful project outcomes.

Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational,
and technology deliverables. Ensures all project processes are completed.

Experience with a 3-in-the-box project structure; working with vendor PM
counterparts.

Ensures change management plans are developed, socialized, and
consistently measured to deliver the expected project benefits and adoption.

Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of
projects for the business.

Executes project requirements in governance frameworks focused on risk
appetite, regulatory and compliance standards.

Develops all related project management artifacts, while complying with
applicable enterprise standards and adhering to project gating guidelines.

Compile master project roadmap including workstreams, key activities,
milestones, due dates, and utilize project management applications to build out
project timelines, track tasks assignment and monitor project progress.

Monitors and controls project deliverables; makes recommendations and
adjustments to the overall project plan to achieve deliverables,

Provide on-going communication to key stakeholders, including the Project

Sponsor(s) and Program Leadership Group to ensure awareness of significant
changes to the project status and related issues and risks in a timely manner.

Understands project, program, and organizational interdependencies and
demonstrates critical thinking that proactively identifies project risks and
establishes effective risk mitigation from the onset.

Ensure the identification of and update to project performance metrics,
indicators, benchmarks, and guidelines to secure that project resources are
used appropriately and in conformity with quality assurance standards
pertaining to organizational project rules and methods.

Communicate regularly with fellow project managers involved in other initiatives
to foster an environment of mutual awareness and alignment on converging
project timelines, interdependencies, and common challenges and best
practices.

Assess and escalate risk related to the project to the appropriate management
level when needed.

Follow and Champion all project governance methodologies and associated
practices, including risks, dependencies, and decision logs.

Provide advice and guidance to business partners and project team as required
regarding best practices in project management.

Support vendor management and strategic sourcing processes and partnering
with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.

Take a leadership role in mentoring other project team members to socialize
project management best practices.

Conduct project retrospectives to harness lessons learned.

Demonstrates stakeholder partnership that involves effective communicating
with the project leadership; gains and builds trust and rapport.

Demonstrates ownership and commitment by holding themselves accountable
for the identification and resolution of project problems.

Leads and/or represents the project in project team meetings, governance
forums and inter-department forums.

Adheres to the organizations risk, regulatory and compliance controls.

Requirements

5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of
study or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
commensurate with the role

ERP Implementation experience on the Business side – preferably S4 Hana
Someone that not only understands the implementation risks / pitfalls
(like data migration etc) but also the business impacts and complexities
of a SI relationship.

Has worked previously in an Agile / Waterfall Hybrid Model
Previous experience working in large transformation projects with SI’s
partnership

Role will be very hands on and ned to hit the ground running

Previous experience in managing project risks and uncertainties.

Previous experience in handling project scope changes

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Ability to successfully utilize MS Project, Jira and Confluence

Ability to lead without direct authority

A background in business administration, project management, or a related
field is considered an asset.

S/4 Hana and SAP Analytics Cloud experience, considered an asset, but not
mandatory.

Certification in Project Management by a recognized project management
organization or other similar certification/education; considered an asset.

Experience with consulting firms (i.e., Accenture, IBM, KPMG, etc.)

Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies, considered an asset.

Previous financial industry experience, considered an asset.

Experience with Cloud ERP implementations, considered and asset.

Data profiling and cleansing approach expertise.

Design and leadership of mock loads and data validation cycles.

Experience with Project Management software.

Functional knowledge of “out of the box” business processes and capabilities
are considered an asset.

Experience in airline related systems and technologies, considered an asset.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and in rapidly changing
environments or uncertain conditions.

Demonstrates openness and willingness to adapt to different and new ways of
doing things.

Ability to liaise with various levels of leadership and effectively communicate
updates on deliverables and Project status at all levels of the organization
(verbal and written)

Advanced MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) skills. Advanced MS Project
skills, a must.

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
