Job Description

Our Client is looking for an SAP OTC Consultant  to build up a custom solution for refined metal and concentrate sales with Revenue Recognition.

Role: SAP OTC Lead with Finance knowledge
Start date: ASAP
End date: 1 Year or longer
Work model: Hydrid. Work remote with occasional travel to Vancouver  


Project Background:
The successful candidate will be joining the team in designing and delivering an S4/HANA Private Cloud solution.
 
The Solution:
  • This Revenue Recognition solution will be a fully custom solution with Commodity Engines 
  • The solution: 75 % is OTC driven , 25 % is Finance Driven 
Requirements:
SAP OTC Consultant who has experience with
  • OTC
  • Commodity Pricing and Provisional Billing/Invoicing.
  • Batch Classification and Price Calculation based on Batch Classification
  • Reverse Order Evaluation
  • Mining and Metals industry knowledge
Process Information:
  • Open contract, create a sales order, etc.
  • When customer is receiving a load, they confirm receipt and quantity. Customer does tests to gauge the weight, quality, metal content, etc.
  • Using commodity pricing. Metal content determines the pricing.
  • Shipping is long. Can use provisional invoices, based on commodity pricing. None of this is standard in SAP.
  • Final billing, captures the delta from the provisional billing.

Other:
  • The sales Process can take multiple months when considering the Quantity and Metal Content (QM Result on batch classification). Every month end the finance revenue stream runs a valuation for everything posted by using the Commodity price posted on the very last day of the month
  • During this time, they can post multiple provisional invoices and a final one at the end when the customer confirms on the agreed metal content and quantity, 
  • By the time the final invoice is posted, all valuated amounts need to be reversed.
