Our Client is looking for an SAP Project Systems Consultant for a long-term contract engagement.
Start: Mid-to--Late March Duration: 12 months Location: Toronto, ON (must be in the Greater Toronto Area) Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Role The Senior SAP PS Functional Analyst leads the design, optimization, and support of SAP Project System (PS) and related modules within SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA environments. The position combines hands-on configuration and support with functional leadership, solution governance, and continuous improvement of integrated processes across PS, SD, MM, and CATS. The analyst plays a key role in driving process standardization, solution scalability, and long-term system sustainability under the direction of the Manager of Application Services.
Responsibilities Include:
Serve as the functional lead for SAP PS, providing strategic guidance and subject matter expertise.
Lead requirements gathering, business process design, and solution architecture for project-based operations.
Configure and optimize SAP PS and its integration with SD (resource-related billing), MM (project procurement), and HR/CATS.
Drive cross-functional alignment between finance, project management, procurement, and operations teams.
Oversee functional specifications and partner with ABAP developers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and transformation initiatives (including S/4 readiness where applicable).
Mentor junior analysts and facilitate knowledge transfer across the team.
Support executive reporting and provide insight into project financial performance and system optimization opportunities.
Mandatory Requirements
6+ years of hands-on SAP PS configuration and support experience.
Demonstrated experience leading functional workstreams or acting as a module lead in SAP implementations.
Strong integration knowledge across PS, SD (including resource-related billing), MM, and CATS.
Experience translating complex business requirements into scalable functional designs.
Proven ability to lead workshops, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus across departments.
Experience supporting production environments and managing complex issue resolution.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Additional / Preferred Experience
Experience supporting S/4HANA upgrade or transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of project accounting and financial management processes.
Experience working in engineering, project-based, or regulated environments.
SAP PS certification (asset).
Experience working in a unionized environment (asset).
Exposure to IT governance, ITIL, or structured project delivery methodologies.
