Our Client is looking for an SAP Tech Solution Lead/ Sr. Manager to join their Enterprise Applications team. This is a Permanent role with the initial project based in Vancouver.  The candidate will work for the next 2 years on an S/4HANA on Rise transformation project.
This role is open to candidates in Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver.  The candidate will have to travel 50-60% of the time to Vancouver for the duration of the project.  In addition, the Client is also open to relocating candidates from anywhere in Canada to Vancouver and will provide a relocation bonus.

The Opportunity

 We are currently looking for a SAP Tech Solution Lead /Manager to join our Enterprise Applications team. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to realize your leadership potential. We are looking for an individual who combines experience leading SAP projects with an aptitude for driving sales pursuits and for helping grow our business.

Your key responsibilities:
As a Tech Solution Lead/ Manager , you will work directly with clients to transform their business challenges into solutions using SAP technologies. The role is primarily accountable for providing SAP development and integration expertise and services for the design and delivery (build, test, run) of SAP custom solutions. The role will also be required to provide leadership, oversight and mentorship for junior team members; this includes providing support building out the development and integration practice. You will influence projects, vendors and/or SIs to ensure they are aligned with our approved methods and delivery standards.

People Management: Effectively lead the team with diverse skills and backgrounds and foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.

Project Management: Participate in large scale SAP client engagements. Consistently deliver quality client services, driving high-quality work products within the expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. Should be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable interfacing with a client on a daily basis. This role requires daily interaction with the client at many levels.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Analysis of functional and non-functional requirements presenting custom solution options for addressing the gaps in standard functionality; associated complexity and effort estimates
  • Collaborate with functional teams, architects, and project stakeholders
  • Design SAP innovative custom solutions that are based on best and/or leading practices
  • Build and code solutions and frameworks ensuring adherence to software development lifecycle and naming standards
  • Ensure highest quality solutions using code reviews, technical and performance testing
  • Have practical experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects
  • Must have experience in all development deliverables including development and integration strategies, technical specifications, code and unit tests.
  • Must be able to operate on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Must also be able to operate in multi-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must be able to present and lead client workshops on key technical topics. Be able to influence and/or convince leaders and decision makers
  • Communicate all solution design and concepts to implementation teams
  • Must be able to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Provide support and guidance to coach and mentor junior developers on SAP technologies and practices including guidance on training

To qualify for the role you must have

  • BSc in computer science, engineering, or relevant field.
  • Experience in SAP Solutions Architecture specializing in ABAP integration designs end-to-end technical landscapes, bridging business requirements with SAP S/4HANA functionality, BTP, and legacy systems.  
  • 8+ years of SAP development and integration, integration security and Solution Architecture.
  • At least 3+ end to end SAP full lifecycle implementations of which 2 in the capacity of SAP Development lead managing a team of developers (including offshore preferable).
  • Experience in API strategies, middleware approaches (CPI/PI/PO), and custom extensibility using ABAP, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance integrations 
  • SAP ABAP experience with all RICEFW object types, SAP Fiori development and extensions using Business Application Studio preferred.
  • ABAP Development Tools (ADT), SAP BTP Extension Suite and Integration Suite experience preferred.
  • Master of Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall/Agile) and Dev-Ops (CI/CD) .
