Job Description

Our Manitoba based client requires Senior Business Analyst to support the business on a number of IT projects to facilitate business process changes for a large IT/business transformation program.

Start: May 2023 negotiable
End: Contract could be 24 months / Initially 6m
Location: Winnipeg/ Hybrid delivery/ largely remote for non-residents
Utilization: 7.25 hr /day



SKILL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
The following are MUST HAVE minimum qualifications and/or experience for the delivery of the Services.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Commerce or an equivalent field
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as a business analyst
Minimum of five (5) years of experience documenting/conducting process analysis and re-engineering
 Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing requirements, use cases and user stories
 Minimum of five (5) years of experience in working on projects in agile environment
Must possess strong political acumen
 Must possess strong critical thinking skills
 Most possess high level of communications, consulting, and client relationship skills. The Analyst must be able to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts, both to clients (internal or external) and to team members, and to negotiate change
Must be capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions


Preferred qualifications or experience:
Accreditation from IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) is considered an asset
Knowledge of the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) is considered an asset


Role Description
The Business Analyst will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with analysis of an organization or business domain.
Responsibilities:
  • Defines and documents business processes involving current and future states
  • Work with high performance agile teams to deliver projects
  • Elicit, analyze and document business requirements
  • Consults business subject matter experts to identify, define and document business requirements and objectives
  • Elicit and document use cases and user stories
  •  Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical team, consultants and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of solutions
  •  Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology and/or through business process changes;
  •  Reads and interprets technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users or non-technical staff
  •  Plans, organizes and conducts business process reengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of programs
  •  Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making
  •  Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality
  •  Develops policy and procedures to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and/or improve internal and external customer service; develops information system documentation
  •  Assist manager in developing business analysis practice
  •  Get directions and provide recommendations to manager on best practices for successful business analysis work delivery
  •  Assist Manager in delivering program objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
