Job Description Resource Role Title: Business Analyst Experience: 3+ years of recent experience. Description: The Resource performing this role will lead and/or support business analysis activities including PIAs, workshops, cross-referencing policies, research, documenting business needs and requirements for technical design. This Resource will help to ensure that proposed solutions align to business needs and industry best practices.
The Resource will engage with lines of business to elicit requirements and facilitate workshops; prepare requirements and gap analyses, training materials and process documentation; and develop documents and implement new business processes.
The role includes working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to discover and define activities involved in how the Ministry provides its services and mapping them to new processes, solutions and systems being implemented.
The Resource will define system integration requirements and act as a subject matter expert and provide knowledge transfer to project members and users. Competencies:
1. Experience producing and working with complex business problems.
2. Experience working with cross-organizational services (service delivery units) particularly within the public sector.
3. Experience facilitating and supporting workshops with a variety of stakeholders.
4. Experience working in an agile development environment alongside product managers, UX designers, developers, and other team members to iteratively analyze and improve services.
5. Knowledge and application of systems thinking to analyze and understand complex service ecosystems.
6. Experience with project tracking tools and ensuring tasks/deliverables are appropriately scoped and in compliance with project requirements.
7. Experience developing and presenting business cases including feasibility studies, risk assessments and cost benefit analyses of solution alternatives.
