Senior Business Analyst/Architect – Field Service Management (FSM)
Location: Hybrid (Remote Eligible) – Travel required every other week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
Preferred Location: San Diego, CA and surrounding areas
Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst/Architect with extensive experience in Field Service Management and a strong background in the utilities and energy sectors. In this leadership role, you will guide the design and delivery of FSM solutions to meet evolving business needs. You'll also be responsible for building a high-performing technical team and ensuring best practices across all phases of solution delivery.
Solution Design & Architecture
Lead the architecture of FSM solutions customized to the needs of utilities and energy clients
Develop detailed system blueprints, data flows, and integration plans
Ensure scalable, secure, and industry-compliant solution designs
Technical Leadership
Provide hands-on technical guidance during implementation phases
Collaborate across development, project management, and business analysis teams
Stay current on emerging technologies to inform and evolve solution strategy
Client Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their operations and challenges
Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
Present and defend architectural decisions with clarity and confidence
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Build and mentor a team of skilled technical professionals
Define team roles, responsibilities, and success metrics
Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and accountability
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Establish standards for design quality, coding, and integration
Lead code reviews and enforce architectural governance
Identify opportunities to streamline delivery and enhance outcomes
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s) preferred
Required Experience
10+ years of experience implementing FSM solutions, with strong domain knowledge in utilities and energy
Proven success in large-scale FSM implementations and systems integration (ERP, CRM, CIS, BI, etc.)
Proficiency in web technologies (XML, JSON, HTML5, AngularJS, etc.)
Experience with REST and SOAP APIs for enterprise system integration
Deep understanding of utility operations, asset management, and compliance
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams
Strong project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to travel domestically or internationally, as needed per project
Preferred Skills
Experience with FSM platforms
Background in consulting or client-facing delivery roles
Familiarity with GIS integrations and mobile workforce solutions
Understanding of IoT, AI, and ML applications in FSM
Relevant professional certifications in architecture or technical fields
