Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Sr. Project Manager, Security to lead large scale enterprise security projects specifically focused on cyber security, OT security, and TSA (Transportation Security Administration).

Start date:  Immediately
End date: June 30, 2026
Work Location: Calgary onsite.  No remote

The Position:  The Senior Project Manager will have a crucial role in leading large-scale enterprise security projects, specifically focused on cyber security, OT security, and TSA. This position is accountable for overseeing project initiation, delivery, controls, and team leadership to achieve successful project outcomes. The Senior Project Manager will extensively collaborate with technical and business leaders, actively manage stakeholders, and provide effective project leadership. In this role, heavy coordination with cross-functional teams and meticulous management of dependencies will be paramount.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Initiation:
  • Collaborate with technical and business leaders to define project investment opportunities, including scope, schedule, budget, and benefits.
  • Identify and negotiate project resource requirements with delivery organizations (internal and external), set delivery expectations, and evaluate delivery performance.
Project Delivery:
  • Directly accountable for planning and executing Agile or Waterfall projects as per project performance criteria (on time, within scope, on budget, and meeting quality standards).
  • Develop project estimates using Agile software development estimation techniques.
  • Possess advanced project management expertise across various knowledge areas.
  • Work with Product and resource owners to identify and manage stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure project requirements align with planned benefits.
  • Facilitate coordination between Technical Leads, Project Delivery Staff, and QE Leads to align project delivery and testing activities.
  • Manage cross-departmental project delivery activities, ensuring project delivery dates are not compromised.
  • Plan project implementations, facilitate dry runs, and lead Go-live activities to ensure smooth production deployments.
  • Escalate material issues and risks to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Drive Organizational Change Management activities to promote product adoption.
  • Plan and ensure a smooth transition to support for all new or modified systems.
Project Controls:
  • Adhere to IS PMO processes, including deliverables, stage gates, and controls compliant with SOX and management controls.
  • Create and maintain project financials, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Monitor and control all aspects of project delivery in accordance with  best practices.
  • Develop and present project scope, schedule, budget, and status updates to senior management.
Team Leadership:
  • Provide strong project leadership, setting clear goals, engaging team members, resolving conflicts, and recognizing contributions
  • Conduct regular lessons learned sessions to foster continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Understand and appreciate different cultural values and sensitivities.
  • Adapt quickly, prioritize effectively, and respond to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit strong accountability and a sense of ownership to deliver quality solutions
The Requirements (skills contractor should have):
  • Significant experience leading large, multi-stakeholder information systems projects.
  • 3-5 years experience in successfully delivering enterprise security-related projects and/or managing projects involving regulatory compliance
  • Post-secondary education in Commerce/Business, Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management planning tools (MS Project preferred) and associated MS Office products.
  • Proven track record of working in a team-oriented environment and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Experience managing Software and Technology Development and/or Application Integration projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills at the root cause and complexity level.
  • Ability to understand business and technical strategies and communicate these needs to governing bodies.
  • Experience in leading statement of work (SOW) development, participating in contract negotiations, and managing vendors and materials delivery.
